Alec Miloslavsky, Executive Chairman

As Executive Chairman, Alec Miloslavsky has responsibility for the strategic direction, product and technology management of Exigen Insurance Solutions. Alec has over 20 years of experience in technology and entrepreneurial leadership. As a Partner at Exigen Capital, Alec holds board seats with Exigen Services and Exiliti. Earlier in his career, Alec co-founded Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories and served as CTO from its inception. Alec helped lead Genesys through its successful initial public offering and subsequent sale to Alcatel (NASDAQ: ALU) for $1.9 billion in 1999. This exit generated 30x returns to shareholders. Following the acquisition, Alec played a key role with the integration of Genesys into the Alcatel organization. Prior to stepping into his new role at Exigen Insurance, Alec is the Co-founder and former Chairman and CEO of Exigen Services, a company that has grown to revenues exceeding $70 million.

Gwen Spertell, President

As President, Gwen Spertell has responsibility for the strategic direction, sales, marketing and customer relationship aspects of Exigen Insurance Solutions. Gwen has over twenty years of business leadership experience in silicon valley software and solution companies. Her strong focus on delivering value to customers, P&L management and business building strategy has allowed companies to capitalize on market opportunities to drive revenues, profits and growth in equity value. Prior to joining Exigen Insurance Solutions, Gwen served as CEO and President of Liquid Engines, where she grew the corporate tax optimization and management software company to serve the Fortune 1000 market. Prior to this, Gwen served as President and CEO of Intelligent Results, where she was instrumental in transforming the unstructured data company into a predictive analytics company. Earlier, Gwen worked for BackWeb Technologies as COO.  Prior to joining BackWeb, she spent eight years with Oracle in executive positions, with her last position being Vice President of Global ISV Alliances. Gwen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rutgers University.

Rowshi Pejooh, Senior Vice President, Product Management

Rowshi Pejooh is the chief product designer and one of the originators of Exigen's insurance solutions. Before joining Exigen, Rowshi was the CIO at Creditland. As an entrepreneur she started YLP Consulting providing software design and business intelligence services to her clients ranging from internet start-ups to large banks and insurance companies. Prior to that she held senior management positions with CSAA. She has an MBA from San Francisco State University.

Mike Dwyer, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President, Development

Mike Dwyer brings close to 20 years of technical, architecture and managerial experience in the insurance and telecommunications industries. Since 2001, Mike has been instrumental in designing, implementing and successfully deploying Exigen Suite solutions to customers while managing engineering teams of more than 150 people on and off-shore. Prior to joining Exigen, Mike held a variety of engineering architecture and management roles for established and start-up companies including Sprint Corp., Interwave Communications and Motorola. Mike holds an Honors Bachelor of Electrical and Micro-electronic Engineering from the University College Cork, Ireland.

Fazi Zand, Vice President, Product Management, CustomerCore

Fazi Zand is one of the early formulators of Exigen's insurance solutions and now directs CRM and distribution product strategy and development. With over 20 years in IT management, strategy, architecture, project and product management, Fazi can draw on experience on all aspects of the information technology value chain. He joined Exigen Group in 2000 from Creditland, a financial services internet marketplace and B2B portal, where he was VP of Technology. Prior to Creditland, he was an IT executive with CSAA, the largest AAA membership club, and $2 billion property and casualty insurance company. Fazi has a MS in Technology Management from Pepperdine University.

Gregory Smith, Senior Vice President, Client Relations

Gregory Smith is responsible for global customer relationships with a key focus on ensuring the best execution and outcome-based alignment of goals through facilitating the initial client engagement, understanding business objectives and establishing a blueprint for business transformation. Greg has over 30 years experience in P&C insurance business and technology management. As senior vice president at California State Automobile Association, he oversaw all aspects of a $1.6 billion personal lines insurance portfolio, including all actuarial, claims, and underwriting activities, together with product management, product delivery and customer service functions, through a workforce of 3,500 working out of 80 retail locations. He led major initiatives to streamline business operations and align technology for business growth. Greg has a long association with the American Red Cross, Bay Area Chapter, serving as chair of the board and later as chief public support officer.

Nancy Kelly, Senior Vice President, Client Implementations

Nancy Kelly is responsible for driving rapid implementations of the Exigen Suite by optimizing solution configuration and directing implementation resources and partners to meet clients’ individual business needs. Nancy joins Exigen Insurance from Accenture, where she was a Partner in their Insurance Delivery practice. She has many years of experience delivering business benefits through implementation of multi-faceted programs impacting people, business processes and technology capabilities. In her twenty years at Accenture, Kelly has worked with a number of the top insurance companies to drive large, transformational efforts. She has proven experience in all aspects of the insurance lifecycle, including policy and product, sales and distribution, billing, claims and reporting. Nancy holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.

Martyn Sutton, Senior Vice President, Global Sales

Martyn Sutton has revenue responsibility for the company’s end-to-end enterprise solutions and software-as-a-service offerings worldwide. Martyn brings over 25 years of industry experience to Exigen Insurance, including leadership positions with prominent insurance technology companies. As U.S. country manager and global head of software sales at Xchanging Global Insurance Services, Martyn lead a team focused on expanding penetration of applications across insurance, reinsurance and broking sectors while also serving on the management team driving direction for product strategy, marketing, solution delivery and customer service. Prior to Exchanging, Martyn was president, North America, and managing board member for Rebus Insurance Systems, where he secured major contracts with leading national and multi-national insurers for enterprise processing solutions. Martyn came to Rebus through its acquisition of EPG Insurance Systems, where he served as the US company president. Martyn holds a BSc (Honors) in mathematical statistics and operational research from the University of Exeter.

Rick Koo, Senior Vice President, Engineering

Rick Koo is responsible for advancing Exigen Suite solutions through his leadership of strategic technology initiatives and project deliveries. Prior to Rick’s recent return to Exigen Insurance Solutions—he formerly headed up the original development team of Exigen Insurance Solutions—Rick led a global team to transform hp.com, one the most traveled websites in the world, from a static to a dynamic publishing model. Rick was also a key leader in the massive Bank of America and Countrywide integration project and instrumental in transforming UBS to an enterprise SOA ecosystem. Rick held a variety of architecture and executive roles for Kaiser Permanente, McKesson, IBM, Longs Drug Stores, Total Entertainment Network and Charles Schwab. He also started two system integrations companies and earned awards from IBM as one of their most valuable partners. Rick graduated from California State University at Long Beach with a Computer Science degree.

David Garrett, Chief Financial Officer

David Garrett is responsible for corporate financial planning, reporting and analysis as well as financial information systems. David is a CPA and an MBA with over 30 years of broad financial experience in Silicon Valley’s high-tech industry, including 16 years as the CFO of several startups, some of which were very successfully acquired. Prior to Exigen Insurance Solutions, David was the CFO of Canesta, Inc., a 3D vision pioneer, which was acquired by Microsoft in late 2010. As a CFO, he has also helped grow and successfully sell Epigram, a home networking innovator, to Broadcom in mid-1999, and Kalpana, the inventor of Ethernet switching, to Cisco in 1994. David started his high tech career with the San Jose office of Price Waterhouse after receiving his MBA degree as well as his Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Florida State University.

Philippe Lafreniere, Vice President, Insurance Solutions & Field Marketing

Philippe Lafreniere is responsible for sales engineering and field marketing. In this role, Philippe is responsible for the rollout of technology infrastructure and skilled resources to support all aspects of the sales cycle of Exigen Suite. In addition, Philippe is responsible for educating an expanding roster of implementation partners about the company’s solution offerings. Philippe has been in the insurance and insurance technology field for 18 years and started his career in insurance sales and underwriting for a national insurer. Philippe has held leadership positions in product management, product marketing and sales for various leading software vendors. He joined Exigen Insurance from iter8, where he served as VP, product innovation. Prior to iter8, he was director of product management at Camilion Solutions. Philippe is a graduate of the Insurance Institute of Canada with the designation of C.I.P. and completed an Executive Program in Strategy and Innovation from MIT Sloan School of Management.
