Exigen Insurance Solutions Recognized in Celent 2009 Model Carrier Award to Private Client Group, a division of AIU Holdings, for New Business Automation

Exigen Insurance Solutions, a leading provider of modern technology solutions to property and casualty insurers, today announced that Celent, a leading research and advisory firm focused on insurance technology strategy, has awarded Exigen customer Private Client Group, a division of AIU Holdings serving high net worth customers, a 2009 Model Carrier award for new business automation.

The award recognizes carriers cited in the Celent Model Carrier 2009 report. The report offers some key best practices in the effective use of technology that a “model carrier” would use, says Celent. Twenty carriers were selected from nominations solicited from over 100 carriers and 50 vendors.

Exigen Insurance Solutions SOA platform is credited in the report as providing Private Client Group (formerly AIG Private Client Group) the ability to integrate to all core systems via an ACORD-based business object model and a web interface to all customer, account, policy, claims, and billing information and activity. The new platform, says the report, "introduced both automated underwriting and an account portfolio to better support brokers and staff as well as to sell and service the Group's high net worth customers."

According to the report, the initiative helped Private Client Group to “business growth of 30% in 2008 thanks to easier cross and up-sell functionality, an IT expense ratio that is nearly half of the insurance industry average, a 30% reduction in time for new business quoting, and approximately 50% automated underwriting for policy changes without underwriter review. In addition, the new platform has allowed internal staff to support three times the amount of equivalent business in 2005, and currently 37% of data for new line quoting to brokers was offset and this percentage continues to grow.”
