Exigen Insurance Solutions Wins Top Honors in 2009 Vanguards in Insurance Practices Awards

Celent and Insurance Networking News’ Award First Place for Best Practices to Exigen Insurance Solutions and Customer Private Client Group, AIU Holdings

San Francisco, Calif., June 03, 2009
Exigen Insurance Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of modern core system solutions to property and casualty insurers, announces that it has been chosen as the 2009 Vanguards in Insurance Practices (VIP) First Place Winner for Best Practices with its customer, Private Client Group, a unit of AIU Holdings. The annual award recognizes an insurance carrier as a “visionary” for its use of technology and was presented at the VIP awards ceremony at the 2009 ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum.

Nominations for the Best Practices Awards in the form of case studies were welcomed from the 159 companies listed in the 2009 VIP solution provider rankings. Nominees were encouraged to illustrate the role that ACORD data standards played as part of their business and technology success story.  The awards were decided by Insurance Networking News (INN) editors, its editorial advisory board of industry experts, and Celent’s top insurance research analysts.

Insurance Networking News editors described Private Client Group as a “text-book example of operational efficiency. It has transformed its disparate, dated technologies into a streamlined, web-services infrastructure with help from Exigen Insurance Solutions. The results have been profound and far-reaching, and the cumulative effect is a thriving, profitable company.”

“The VIP Best Practice Awards challenge judges to select from an impressive list the “best of the best” case studies in terms of business benefit and quantifiable metrics,” said Craig Weber, executive vice president, Celent. “Award winners emerge with the unqualified endorsement and acknowledgement of a jury of peers and experts.”

“It is a great pleasure to present this award to ACORD member Exigen Insurance Solutions and to Private Client Group because it is a dramatic illustration of the measurable value ACORD standards provide insurers looking to improve business results,” said John Kellington, Senior Vice President, ACORD, the nonprofit insurance standards organization.

“Private Client Group is honored to have been chosen as VIP First Place for Best Practices winner with Exigen Insurance Solutions,” said Karl Uphoff, CIO, Private Client Group. “Exigen has been an excellent partner. We recognized their industry-leading ACORD-based integration capabilities, and their advanced skills in BPM and putting together a solid platform. It was clear Exigen was an IT firm designed to satisfy potential of what their client may want to do. And it represented a partnership opportunity and a willingness to come along for the ride as we developed, rather than coming to us as a vendor with a rigid product.”

The Exigen solution has helped Private Client Group to:

• Business growth of 30% through 2008
• An IT expense ratio that is less than half the industry average
• A 30% reduction in time for new business quoting
• Reduction of endorsement processing time by 70%
• 37% of new line quoting is initiated by brokers inside the system

“Exigen Insurance is proud to be a part of Private Client Group’s success, and is honored to have its solutions counted as the ‘best of the best’,” said Gwen Spertell, CEO, Exigen Insurance Solutions.
