Exigen Insurance Process Backbone (IPB) provides a comprehensive set of component services that can be easily configured and rapidly customized to exact specifications for each implementation. These components cover two broad areas of required functionality: insurance business functions and services, and general functions and services.

IPB general functions and services include:

  • Business Process Management (BPM): These services provide the capabilities to design, model, execute, monitor, and optimize business processes. BPM services can be leveraged to manage automated, manual or assisted activities and tasks.
  • Business Activity Monitoring (BAM): This set of services improves operational intelligence by capturing, analyzing, monitoring and reporting data related to activities and events. BAM provides assurance for people accountability, process traceability, and technology reliability.
  • Content Management Services (CMS): These services enable IPB Insurance Solutions to be totally paperless. All solution-generated documents, faxes, electronic images scanned documents, emails and attached files are managed in a centralized repository and presented as electronic files organized in dynamic folders to the users.
  • Integrated Interaction Management: Exigen IPB solutions support different means of interactions between process stakeholders, such as self-service, person-to-person, contact-center, and correspondence channels. These services enable integration of business processes irrespective of the channel utilized and seamless transfer of tasks and activities between channels without any loss of information.
  • Business Logic Services (BLS): These services enable the externalization of business rules to quickly facilitate changes in the business logic associated with evaluating, underwriting and pricing of risks, as well as triggering, routing, assigning and monitoring processes, activities and tasks.
  • Systems Integration Services: These services support the integration of heterogeneous systems, such as Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Message Queues (MQ) and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), to provide access to information and functions in existing systems.
